So, I bet you though Winnie the Pooh and co were fictional huh? Well, no. Actually Winnie and his pals Tiger, Eeyore, Piglet and Kanga are not only real but you can visit them at there home in the Children’s center c/o The New York Public Lobrary, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street…. You know the building, it’s the one with the two Lions out front that the Ghost Busters was filmed at.
Anyway, they’ve been very comfortable their since 1987 after moving to the US in 1947 once reterired from the media.
Before that? Well fame began as first-birthday present to Christopher Robin Milne in 1921 when he received a small stuffed bear purchased from Harrods in London. Soon after four friends joined and the inspiration was set for the children’s classics When We Were Very Young (1924), Winnie-the-Pooh (1926), Now We Are Six (1927), and The House at Pooh Corner (1928), all written by his father, A.A. Milne.
So there you have it, Winnie and co are REAL!
